History of Yugo Car:

Kragujevac is in Yugoslavia and the very first vehicles in Kragujevac were "Ford" trucks only. In the late 30's the main perpose of vehicles is for using in the Yugoslavian Army.

The total design of the car is based on the mechanics of the Fiat 127 and Fiat 128, for that the licence from Fiat is taken and body style is just like the modified Autobianchi A112. Malcolm Bricklin actually wanted to introduce a simple, low cost car to that market so introduced the Yugo.

In the US, Yugo was sold from 1984 to 1992, with the most American units sold in the year peaking at 45,000. During the eighties, the hatchback models were made popular with the caption "Go New! Go Yugo!" in the UK. As a result of this Yugo is the cheapest new car available at that time.

The Yugo is still being sold in the Yugoslavia with updated design but during the 70s and 80s, Zastava sold its compact cars in the North as well as South America under the Yugo brand. The Yugo vehicle had some success at first, but after some days the vehicles gained a comment as unreliable and operation folded.

the final model of the Yugo cars known as Yugo Sana, launched in 1990 was styled by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, but was unable to make a great sell due to the Yugoslav wars, and after that Yugo cars got disappeared from Western markets.
